Highlights of Events and Festivals

Camden, Crossett, Hamburg, Hampton and Fordyce have lighting displays all season long and a Christmas parade.

El Dorado has been recognized for excellence by Main Street Arkansas and the city's Christmas festivities also include a parade. During the holidays, the Christmas lights on the Union County Courthouse in El Dorado, viaduct and buildings lend classic elegance to a wonderful time of the year to be enjoyed by all. Holiday decorating follows traditional red and green lights as displayed throughout the City and glowing with holiday cheer.

Magnolia lights up the Columbia County Courthouse and square as well as Warren lighting up the Bradley County Courthouse and square; you may just want to drive through the area viewing the many beautiful lighted homes. In Magnolia there is a beautiful Christmas Parade that ends with a party, caroling and lighting ceremony at Southern Arkansas University.

Camden Events

BPW Barn Sale - Arts and crafts, antique automobiles, and great BBQ abound each year on the last Saturday in September at the BPW Barn Sale and Antique & Classic Car Show and The Great Camden BBQ Cookoff. Held annually since 1968, Barn Sale has developed into south Arkansas' largest arts and crafts show. Craftsmen and artists from five states exhibit their artistry in over 160 booths. Homemade foods, western bands, bluegrass groups, and gospel singers delight the crowds. Held on Oakland Farm around the historic Tate Barn, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Free Admission. For more information, call (870) 836-6426.

Camden Daffodil Festival - Held second weekend in March, festival happenings include daffodil garden tours which includes magnificant Japanese Garden and acres and acres of beautiful daffodils, historic home tours, historic Confederate Cemetery Walk, Civil War re-enactors camped on the banks of the Ouachita River, arts and crafts vendors, children's activities, live music, and topped off on Saturday night with the Annual Steak Cook-Off. Annual Wild Turkey Calling Contest, Camden - an event held in conjunction with the Daffodil Festival and sanctioned by the National Wild Turkey Federation.

El Dorado MusicFest - The 17th annual celebration in historic Downtown El Dorado. Music including pop, rock, blues, and country with special guest stars. Mayhaw Festival, El Dorado - 1st Saturday in May. Celebration of the mayhaw berry from jelly to great food, Dutch oven cook-off, antiques and entertainment.
